I never thought I'd be in this situation but here I am, sitting at home with a busted up knee from a fall at a warehouse in Newburgh, trying to figure out what the heck all these papers mean. The insurance company sent me this big packet and it's full of words I've never seen before like deposition and impairment rating and I'm just supposed to know what to do with all of it? I've been trying to look stuff up online but half the time I end up on some site that's just trying to get me to sign up for something. I did find one place called Workers Compensation Attorney Law that actually explained some of the terms in plain English which was helpful because I was starting to feel pretty dumb just staring at these pages. I'm still not sure if I need a lawyer or if I can handle this myself, but at least now when I read the letters I have some idea what they're talking about. My wife keeps telling me to just call someone and be done with it but I guess I'm the type that needs to understand what I'm getting into first. Anyone else feel like this stuff is designed to be confusing on purpose?
