How much should I expect to pay for a major service on my QX70 at a proper Infiniti specialist? (56 อ่าน)

Hi everyone, I'm trying to budget for a upcoming major service on my 2016 Infiniti QX70 which has about 140,000 kilometers on it now. The car runs fine but I know I'm due for spark plugs, transmission fluid change, differential oil, brake fluid flush, and probably a few other things that I don't even know about. I called the dealership just out of curiosity and they quoted me around 4800 dirhams for the 140k service which honestly made my eyes water a bit. I started asking around in some WhatsApp groups and a few people told me that I don't need to go to the dealership for this kind of work and that I can find specialists in Musaffah who do the exact same job for half the price or even less. But here's my concern. I don't want someone using cheap fluids or aftermarket parts that aren't up to the same standard as genuine Infiniti stuff. I've been trying to find proper Infiniti service experts Abu Dhabi based who only work on these cars and have access to genuine parts and proper diagnostic equipment. Does anyone here have recent experience getting a major service done at a non dealership garage in Abu Dhabi? What did you pay and were you happy with the quality of parts they used? Also did they reset the service light properly and give you a detailed invoice with part numbers? I really want to save money but not at the expense of ruining my transmission or engine. Please recommend specific places you trust and give me a rough idea of what a fair price looks like for this kind of work. Thanks so much in advance for helping me out.

Half the dealership price at a specialist is realistic if they're using genuine parts and just have lower labor overhead. The key is asking for an itemized invoice with actual part numbers before you commit. If they can't or won't provide that, that's usually a red flag.

That dealership quote is pretty standard honestly, 140k service involves a lot of fluids and parts. Specialists can do it cheaper but always ask specifically about genuine vs aftermarket parts before agreeing to anything.

This is exactly the right question to ask honestly, the price difference between dealership and specialist is usually labor markup, not necessarily parts quality, but you do need to verify that yourself. Ask directly whether they use genuine Infiniti parts or OEM equivalent for fluids like transmission and differential oil, since those matter a lot for long term reliability. A good specialist will have no problem showing you the actual parts before installation. Also confirm upfront whether the service light reset is included, some smaller shops forget or charge extra for that.

Always ask for a written breakdown before agreeing to a price, especially for fluids and part numbers. A specialist who's confident in their work won't hesitate to give you that.

140k service is a big one so the price gap between dealership and specialist can be significant, but quality verification matters more than just chasing the lowest quote. Ask specifically about transmission fluid type and differential oil brand since those are common places shops cut corners. A proper invoice with part numbers and confirmation of genuine versus OEM equivalent parts is the easiest way to protect yourself. If a shop seems vague about any of that, it's worth getting a second quote elsewhere before committing.
